About the Tool
The Roots & Growth Tool that came out of a vast co-creation process with 62 grassroots organisations in Kenya and Tanzania aims to support you to pause, reflect, recognise the change you're already driving, track change over time, build your own story of learning and impact in ways that feel meaningful & manageable
As you continue to use this Tool you will have the capacity to recognise your strengths, identifying areas that need attention, building your own pathway for learning, using simple practices to track your impact and tell your story. We wanted to ensure that you have access to a tool that grows with you and not about complicated organisational assessments or one-size-fits-all forms.
As a living process you can enter anywhere in the loop whenever you need to reflect, adapt your work, share learning, or prepare for new partnerships.

How the Tool works
Modular Design:
The tool is broken down into short, focused sections:
You can complete one at a time, in any order and return later when ready and at the end you will get a summary document in WORD/PDF that you can use to present to funding and strategic partners.
Reflection-based prompts:Each section includes practical prompts and light-touch checklists to guide your thinking, whether you're just getting started or already strengthening your systems.
Progress tracker:A simple visual bar shows how much you've completed offering a motivating snapshot of your journey. No scores or grades, just a gentle nudge to keep going.
Auto-updating completion summary:As you move through each section, the tool automatically updates your completion dashboard. This helps you see how your internal capacity is developing over time.
